Jammu cyber police issues advisory for Amarnath Yatra 2025

 

The advisory asks people to use only official websites for information on the yatra, to use strong passwords and to use mobile data over public Wi-Fi. The advisory stated that people should not share personal documents online and should not leave their phones unlocked.

This is a cyber advisory from the Cyber Police Station Jammu Zone for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2025, running from July 03 to August 09, 2025. It provides dos and don'ts for pilgrims:Cyber Do's:Use only the official website (shriamarnathjishrine.com) for information.

Use strong, unique passwords for important accounts.

Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for email and financial accounts.

Install trusted security apps to protect against malware and phishing.

Prefer mobile data over public Wi-Fi for internet use.

Cyber Don'ts:Don’t share personal documents (Aadhaar, ID proofs, tickets) online.

Don’t click on suspicious links offering Yatra updates or free services.

Don’t disclose OTPs, passwords, or UPI PINs.

Don’t use public devices for financial transactions.

Don’t leave your phone unlocked or unattended.

Don’t fall for fake charity or donation appeals; verify authenticity.

Don’t forget to log out of shared devices.

Don’t trust fake websites or unsolicited accommodation/travel offers.

Normal scammer use this data to do kyc in various apps to access and sell there product. You should not provide any of details to anyone.

Scammer always finds soft target. Due to lack of information and there faith , people don't think twice about it. Scammer spreads such malicious link in public group in name of god. 
Fake registration website or clone website is main source of scams. Also they can ask for donations for Yatra. 

How to be secure 

Always check official sources. 
Check website URL and name twice. 
Don't click on any unknown links. 
Don't post your information in social media.
